The Procare rise and recline has made such a difference to our lives. My son Tommy has Muscular Dystrophy and can no longer get up from a seating position. The chair means he can get up independently. He’s spending more time in the lounge with me & Roscoe the dog and we’re loving it. My daughter suffers from Huntingtons Disease – a neurological condition affecting muscle coordination which over time results in loss of mobility and ability to move, including contraction of the limbs and being unable to speak. This means she is totally reliant on chairs and equipment critically specified for a changing posture in sitting and reclined positions to ensure her comfort and safety at all times and those responsible for her care.
My daughter entered residential care over 10 years ago and we were extremely fortunate to have contact with Jeff. Since that time he has been responsible for specifying and supplying wheelchairs, made to measure tilt-in-space reclining chairs, hoisting slings, alternating mattresses and pumps, bed bumpers, all specifically designed for her ever-changing needs as her condition deteriorated.
Over the years Jeff has been totally responsible for drawing up with meticulous detail the specifications for chairs and equipment to ensure her comfort and safety, without any vocal contribution from my daughter herself, at every stage of her condition. With his professional knowledge of manual handling in supplying equipment he has also ensured that nurses and carers within the home are instructed on the correct method of manual handling and positioning at all levels.
As her Mother I have 100% faith that Jeff has always acted in her best interests. I know if there is urgent need for any manual aids, such as in situ slings, a phone call will receive immediate response and items will be supplied with the minimum of delay. Jeff always appreciates the need for urgent attention. Over the years he has never failed us.
